Brief description of role or responsibilities
The Neonatal Pharmacist team provides care to the neonatal patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
Describe how the individual or team made a positive contribution to patient care or their pharmacy department:
These pharmacists are calm under pressure, amazing and passionate baby advocates.
They anticipate the needs of the babies and suggest optimal treatment regimens before the majority of medication orders are written.
They are go-to members of the health care team, who come up with creative solutions to solve system problems and prevent errors.
They are also fantastic with data collection, assisting with many important quality improvement projects leading to positive changes in practice for the unit.
