Brief description of role or responsibilities

I am a pharmacy technician working at Lions Gate Hospital Pharmacy as inventory control and omnicell administrator — managing inventory records, coordinating recalls and expiries, troubleshooting system and dispensing issues, and providing staff training on emergency workflows.

Describe how the individual or team made a positive contribution to patient care or their pharmacy department:

As a hospital Pharmacy Technician in British Columbia, I take particular pride in two complementary areas: first, inventory Control — I maintain accurate records, manage recalls and expiries, monitor stock levels, and proactively communicate stock risks and therapeutic alternatives to pharmacists, nursing staff and procurement so medications are available when patients need them; and second, my role as backup Omnicell administrator — I troubleshoot dispensing and connectivity issues, manage user access and inventory reports, train staff on emergency workflows, and handle routine on-unit hardware fixes (including simple printer maintenance and other common faults) to restore safe dispensing quickly.  My practice is guided by professionalism, clear communication, and a patient-centred focus, reflecting the standards of professional accountability and collaborative practice expected by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
