Brief description of role or responsibilities
Rebecca is a Clinical Pharmacist at BC Children’s & Women’s Hospital. She mainly covers general pediatrics, pediatric neurology and pediatric palliative medicine. She also has experience covering pediatric cardiology, pediatric surgery, and specialty pediatric medicines (GI, CF, Ad Med, Metabolics) since starting here in June 2024.
Describe how the individual or team made a positive contribution to patient care or their pharmacy department:
We would like to recognize Rebecca for her positive contributions to the pharmacy department and patient care since joining the team. In a short period of time, Rebecca has already grown clinically and has precepted multiple OEE students in a variety of clinical areas. She even co-precepted her first pharmacy resident in general pediatrics this past month. Rebecca has also been involved in various committees including the ward’s quality and safety committees, Canuck Place Medication Committee, and the C&W Pharmacy Appreciation Month 2025 Committee. Her willingness to engage in the teaching of nurses on neurology or cardiology medications also reflects the collaborative culture of pharmacists. Rebecca has also dealt with many complicated patient cases, ones that involve extensive communication between the patient, team, and our department, and in all these scenarios she has demonstrated excellent communication and clinical skills. We appreciate and thank Rebecca for her dedication to our department and the profession! We look forward to seeing even more professional growth in the next few years.
