Brief description of role or responsibilities
Clinical pharmacist, preceptor, mentor, clinical expert and a leader.
Describe how the individual or team made a positive contribution to patient care or their pharmacy department:
Since joining the RMH clinical pharmacy team, Jason has been a trusted mentor and clinical expert, generously sharing his knowledge and strengthening both individual practice and overall team performance. His commitment to evidence-based, compassionate care sets a high standard for those around him.
As a dedicated preceptor, he encourages critical thinking and challenges learners to reach their full potential while fostering confidence and professional growth. Through his mentorship, Jason has shaped careers, elevated practice standards, and made a lasting positive impact on the profession of pharmacy.
During Pharmacy Appreciation Month, we proudly recognize Jason Gore as our Mentor Profile honoree. Over more than three decades in hospital pharmacy practice, Jason has exemplified excellence in patient care, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to lifelong learning. Since joining the RMH clinical pharmacy team, he naturally stepped into the role of mentor and clinical expert, with both junior and experienced pharmacists regularly seeking his guidance and support. He is always willing to step in and help — efficiently, thoughtfully, and professionally — and his clinical insight has strengthened both individual practice and team performance.
Jason’s practice has included extensive experience in medicine, surgery, pediatrics, NICU, oncology, and residential care across several Lower Mainland hospitals, including Royal Columbian Hospital, Ridge Meadows Hospital, Vancouver General Hospital, BC Children’s Hospital, and Surrey Memorial Hospital. In addition to clinical roles, he has served in leadership positions, supervised multidisciplinary teams, and remained a dedicated and highly valued preceptor, consistently challenging learners to reach their full potential.
As he prepares to retire, we celebrate a career defined by integrity, mentorship, and meaningful impact. Jason’s influence on patients, colleagues, and the profession will be lasting — and he will be greatly missed.
