Brief description of role or responsibilities
Many roles and responsibilities including (but not limited to) Neo + Peds Pharmacy Coordinator (includes pediatrics, NICU, pediatric and adolescent mental health, pediatric ER, and maternity) and CPS for NICU.
Leads many quality improvements projects, sits on various committees, provides input/develops various guidelines/pre-printed orders, etc.
Description of how they are a great mentor or has positively influenced you and the pharmacy profession:
I began working in the neonatal and pediatric department following the completion of my residency in 2020. I had a lot of excitement but also apprehension about the transition from residency to practice.
Over the last couple of years Brandi has been an unbelievable mentor and coordinator, and has helped alleviate a lot of the anxiety I faced during the transition – especially as I was transitioning from an adult residency to a primarily pediatric/neonatal clinical area.
Although she carries many responsibilities in her current role, she always made time to review questions that I had and provided me with invaluable clinical knowledge and advice. Her dedication to her patients is inspiring and is evident through her advocacy on the ward as well as her time spent completing quality improvement projects.
Brandi was and continues to be a great leader for our department throughout the pandemic and always prioritized the well-being of our staff in these challenging times.
I am very privileged to be able to work alongside and learn from Brandi and thank her for her consistently patient and kind demeanor.
