Brief description of role or responsibilities

Trana provides care to liver transplant recipients in an inpatient and outpatient setting, collaborating with hepatologists, surgeons, nurses and allied health. She has been a key member of the transplant hepatology team and has made many contributions to research in this field. She is an enthusiastic and effective educator and has given lectures to pharmacy students, pharmacy professionals and medical learners.

As a clinical supervisor, Trana assesses and optimizes clinical workflow and enhances the professional development of VGH pharmacists.

Description of how they are a great mentor or has positively influenced you and the pharmacy profession:

Trana’s drive, attention to detail, and passion for patient-centered care are some of the qualities which make her an excellent mentor to myself and practicing pharmacists. She has been able to establish her role as a pharmacist within the transplant hepatology team and is heavily relied on for her expertise in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Along with impacting patient care at VGH, Trana is able to positively influence the pharmacy profession by going above and beyond for her patients and her field. She balances research, lecturing, and precepting all while providing excellent care for her patients. By doing so, she is setting an excellent example for pharmacists and pharmacy learners on contributing to patient care in a variety of ways.
