Brief description of role or responsibilities

Nikolina is a Clinical Pharmacist and the Experiential Education Facilitator at BC Children’s & Women’s Hospital. She mainly covers general pediatrics, but also has experience covering pediatric neurology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric surgery, and specialty pediatric medicines (GI, CF, Ad Med, Metabolics).

Describe how the individual or team made a positive contribution to patient care or their pharmacy department:

We have been incredibly fortunate to learn from Nikolina, who is a wonderful pharmacist and educator. Her passion for teaching and patient care is evident every day on the CTU and medical/surgical floors, where she consistently creates a supportive, engaging, and safe learning environment. She is generous with her time and knowledge, and we always felt encouraged to ask questions and grow in terms of clinical confidence.

Through her role as an EEF, Nikolina has had a profound impact on learners, including UBC pharmacy students, and her enthusiasm and warmth make learning both meaningful and enjoyable. Nikolina is also an invaluable resource to pharmacists across BC Children’s Hospital, particularly for her expertise in precepting and her knowledge of the UBC PharmD curriculum. We would like to congratulate Nikolina again for receiving the New Preceptor of the Year award from the LMPS Residency Program 2024-2025 cohort.

Nikolina has developed a lot of leadership skills in the last year in her role at C&W as the Experiential Education Facilitator. Ever since being in the role, she has supported many students and preceptors. She has implemented new and improved forms and created very organized resource documents for staff. She takes initiative and communicates well with the leadership team and her colleagues. Nikolina is also a great clinician and preceptor as well. She’s been precepting both OEE learners and pediatric pharmacy residents and was recently recognized with the New Preceptor of the Year award from the LMPS Residency Program. Nikolina is passionate about her work and manages her clinical assignments as well as checking in on students and preparing for their rotations very well. She is a reliable and invaluable member of the C&W Pharmacy Department! Thank you for all that you do, Nikolina!
