Morgan is a Primary Care Clinical Pharmacist working as part of the health care team in the Central Okanagan Primary Care Network
Dionne is an Acute Care Pharmacist at Vernon Jubilee Hospital
Describe how the individual or team made a positive contribution to patient care or their pharmacy department:
Morgan Flynn and Dionne Martyn are leaders, champions and contributors to climate sustainability in their clinical settings. They are both participants in the Regional MDI Pilot Project looking to adapt work done through Island Health’s Critical Air Project and CASCADES Climate Conscious Inhaler Practices. Dionne sits on her local Environmental Sustainability Committee and participates on the Interior Regional Planetary Health Table. She has led a number of “grass-root” initiatives in her own pharmacy department such as appropriate disposal of soft plastics and batteries. Morgan participated as a co-investigator on a pharmacy residency project looking at barriers and enablers to climate conscious inhaler practices in acute care. She also sits on the Central Okanagan Division of Family Practice Climate Action Committee & Central Okanagan Sustainability Committee. Morgan has also recently joined the Canadian Association of Pharmacy for the Environment (CAPhE) Partnerships Committee which encourages best practices regarding planetary health within pharmacy. Morgan & Dionne are always willing to help out and champion initiatives that promote planetary health and sustainability.
