Brief description of role or responsibilities
Morgan works with providers in the Central Okanagan to address barriers to medication use, provide education and develop and implement care plans for patients. She conducts comprehensive medication reviews during virtual or in person appointments and ensures patients preferences are taken into account with her recommendations.
Describe how the individual or team made a positive contribution to patient care or their pharmacy department:
Morgan is an advocate for lessening the environmental footprint that the health care system, and in particular, medication use, has on our world. She is active on the Central Okanagan Division of Family Practice Climate Action Committee, the Central Okanagan Sustainability Committee and a member of the Canadian Association of Pharmacy for the Environment (CAPhE) Partnerships Committee. She has presented education to our PCN staff on Climate Conscious Inhaler Prescribing and How Medications Affect the Environment. She has also provided monthly content for our PCN Newsletter. She is always taking courses to increase her knowledge on this topic and sharing resources with the other primary care pharmacists. Thanks to Morgan for caring about the planet!
