Louise is a residency-trained clinical pharmacist who covers multiple clinical areas at Vancouver General Hospital. Her primary areas of practice include internal medicine and transplant hepatology.
Describe how the individual or team made a positive contribution to patient care or their pharmacy department:
I have the privilege of working alongside Louise as our roles overlap in both Liver Transplant and in Internal Medicine. Despite having worked with Louise for quite some time now, I am still always learning from her in terms of how to be a better clinician and person. She is detail-oriented and extremely thorough with her assessments and workups. Recognizing the opportunities to improve patient care, she doesn’t hesitate to try to streamline our processes and offer well thought-out recommendations. Additionally, I know if I ever need to run a clinical scenario by someone, Louise is always willing to listen and provide sound advice. Perhaps what impresses me the most though, is that she genuinely cares for her patients. I can see how happy she becomes when patients do well after an admission. Highly motivated to become a stronger clinician at all times, Louise is currently pursuing her post-grad PharmD training, and I think we are very lucky to have her as a member of our team.
