Brief description of role or responsibilities
Dr. Lily Cheng is a Pharmacy Manager with Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services, working closely with the leadership teams at St. Paul’s Hospital and Royal Columbian Hospital to oversee clinical and distribution pharmacy operations. Starting in March 2024, Lily will be taking on a new role as the Pharmacy Director for Royal Columbian Hospital, Eagle Ridge Hospital and Queen’s Park long term care.
Describe how the individual or team made a positive contribution to patient care or their pharmacy department:
Lily is a caring and empathetic leader who is always willing to listen and provide support, no matter how challenging the task may be. She is friendly, approachable, and generous with her time, never hesitating to provide guidance or encouragement. Lily’s calm demeanour and sound decision-making have helped us navigate many complex situations, from advocating for workplace psychological safety, implementing Cerner, and planning for the new St. Paul’s Hospital. Lily has an ability to break down complicated issues into manageable pieces, and her thoughtful and pragmatic approach has enabled us to be more effective leaders who keep the big picture in mind. Lily cares for the wellbeing of others, and her empathetic leadership has strengthened our collective team. Lily is an inspirational mentor who has had an impact on our personal and professional growth over the years, as we navigate our own leadership journeys. She has taught us to stay calm, embrace new challenges, and not be afraid to take a leap of faith every now and then!
