Student Membership Coordinator

This position is APPOINTED by the President and the Student Membership Coordinator acts as a non-voting member of the BC Branch Executive.

The Student Membership Coordinator will:

  • Assume responsibility for the “Terms of Reference” of the Position.
  • Attend CSHP-BC Branch monthly meetings for the term of 22 months as:
    • Junior Rep from March to December
    • Senior Rep from January to December.
  • Bring forth to CSHP-BC Branch Council queries from pharmacy students.
  • Promote membership by advertising CSHP events and providing information to students at CSHP events, Pharmacy Awareness Month, and Hospital Residency Info Night.
  • Provide suggestions to improve student involvement with CSHP.
  • Write an annual report with support from the CAPSI senior representative on the year’s activities prior to the AGM.
  • Contribute to the quarterly CSHP-BC Newsletter, outlining events occurring in the past month and thanking the mentors in the summer newsletter.
  • Coordinate refreshments for each CSHP-BC Branch monthly meeting.

Duties: Jr Membership Coordinator

  • Liaise with branch membership coordinator at the start of term for orientation to student recruitment activities
  • Assist Sr. Membership Coordinator with PAM activities in March
    • CSHP Booth at PAM Health Fair in the SUB at UBC
    • CSHP PAM Symposium
  • Assist Sr. Membership Coordinator with CSHP activities in September and October
    • Attend Pharmacy Clubs Night – September
    • Host CSHP Student Symposium (Information Session) – September
    • Coordinate BC Cancer Agency Site Visitation – September (biennially)
    • Attend Careers Avenue Night – October
  • Coordinate annual CAPSI-CSHP Symposium (March) with the support of the CAPSI Senior Representative.
  • Coordinate the Mentorship Program starting in September by recruiting mentors and students, pairing them up, and encouraging visitations
  • Encourage students to attend branch events (September Clinical Symposium, AGM) and network with other mentors

Duties: Sr Membership Coordinator

  • Coordinate Pharmacy Residency Information Evening with the BC Pharmacy Practice Residency Program Committee – March
    • Book room and advertise to students
  • Advertise and recruit new CSHP Jr. Membership Coordinator – October/November
    • Set-up telephone interview for candidates with Sr. Student Membership Coordinator, President, President-Elect, and Membership Chairperson
  • Coordinate CSHP PAM activities in March
    • CSHP Booth at PAM Health Fair in the SUB at UBC
    • CSHP PAM Symposium
  • Mentorship Program Handover to Jr. Membership Coordinator in September
  • Coordinate CSHP activities in September and October with Jr. Membership Coordinator
    • Attend Pharmacy Clubs Night – September
    • Host CSHP Student Symposium (Information Session) – September
    • Coordinate BC Cancer Agency Site Visitation – September (biennially)
